Plot Synopsis by Erik: Mitchell's a bad cop. He's not corrupt—just very bad at his job.
Mitchell, one of the booziest, most oafish performances of Joe Don
Baker's career, is assigned to stake out a drug lord played by Martin
Balsam. How this relates to the robbery of JOHN SAXON'S HOUSE at the
start of the film is never quite explained. Mitchell, of course, reveals
himself to the drug lord and bumbles, shoots, and chases everyone across
Los Angeles County in a mess of "police work" that goes against everything we've
been taught in the thirty-odd combined years of all Law & Order shows.
Oh, he's also presented with a whore in the form of Linda Evans. Her
penchant for the vile weed lands her in the pokey every time she is sent
to Mitchell's for a late night surprise. Through Mitchell's complete and
utter lack of competence, he manages to defeat all the drug lords in L.A. The End. But stick around for the Hoyt Axton sung “Theme from Mitchell.” |
